The Queens Gaels were perfect on the day, going 4-0 against all opponents at the Athletics and Recreation Center (ARC) with all games part of “Super Saturday” in support of A.M.P.

The No. 9 Queen’s Gaels men’s volleyball team (6-2) won their matchup with the York Lions in four sets at the ARC. Hutcheson led the way with 19 kills and two aces while Zane Grossinger had five blocks to go along with his 45 assists.​

The Queen’s Gaels women’s volleyball team came out on top in their matchup with the York Lions on Saturday. The Gaels lost the opening set but roared back to take the three straight against the Lions. The girls were led by Livingston with 13 kills and Vander Linde who had six blocks.

The Queen’s Gaels men’s basketball team (4-3) were also victorious on Super Saturday, defeating the Waterloo Warriors 83-75 on Saturday behind Jaz Bains who had 22 points and Tanner Graham who finished off the night with 17 points.

The Queen’s Gaels women’s basketball team (6-1) wrapped up Super Saturday with a dominant win, defeating the Waterloo Warriors (1-7) 76-52. The Gaels were able to capitalize in transition, scoring 32 points off turnovers and making 10 three-pointers. Leading the way for the Gaels was Marianne Alarie with 24 points and Maddie Morris with 11 rebounds.

All players wore their Autism Mentorship Program warm-up shirts to match the ones that the program members received on Saturday, and some stopped by post-game to meet and greet the A.M.P participants and their families who made it out to the game. We look forward to hosting another Super Saturday in the New Year!
